東台古堡採西式炮台建築方式，整體格局呈現ㄇ字型，洋溢歐風。

澎湖擁有非常豐富的觀光資源，有上百年的傳統聚落，也有極具歐風情調的軍營堡壘、燈塔，臨海興建，走逛其間就宛如置身地中海小島，而廢棄的彈藥庫則能見識日據時代，以玄武岩砌築的精湛工法；此外，在澎湖的西嶼還有非私人海洋漁場，可讓人見到奇特的魚洗澡，還可以和魚游泳呢！

澎湖西嶼現存漁翁島燈塔建於1874年，為英國建築師所改建的洋式燈塔。東昌營區西堡壘的彈藥庫藏於盤根錯節的榕樹裡，隱僻而幽靜。二崁有不少保存完善的古厝，為內政部指定國內第一個傳統聚落保存區。
