這陣風夾雜了樹木的清香，跟隨著風來的方向抵達了榕園，入口處極具特色的金門電話亭矗立著，飽和的紅色與白色在金門熱辣的豔陽下更為顯眼，園內綠草如茵，榕樹遮蔽了強烈的陽光，樹枝隨著風嘎嘎作響，步行至兩蔣總統常巡視的慰廬，在一片翠綠中的紅磚更顯強烈對比。

據說這曾是明朝國子監助教洪受的故居，其著有的滄海記遺，記錄了過去金門的種種，對於現今金門歷史的建立有著極大幫助。關於榕園，傳說是一個村的興盛與覆滅，如今村的消失取而代之的是生意盎然的榕樹，在榕樹下散步卻有種滄海桑田之感。
