因應潭美颱風可能來襲，雪霸國家公園管理處20日公布，雪霸國家公園生態保護區各登山路線暫時停止入園。

中央氣象局於8月20日11時30分發布潭美颱風海上警報，雪霸國家公園生態保護區各登山路線自即刻起暫時停止入園。山區道路遇雨易有落石坍方等潛在危險發生，雪霸處籲請遊客於此期間切勿前往山區從事登山旅遊活動，以確保安全。
